How I spend my free time ?

Apart from educational work, I spend every second I get with great passion and happiness. I am doing a lot of things for freedom and I would like to leave here the memoirs of some of them.

Studied dance as an aesthetic subject at an early age and has participated in various dance performances. But with the urge to study music as a subject away from dance at school, I became more inclined towards hobbies like singing, listening to different tunes and recording music in my free time. I do this as a meditation to calm the mind.

In addition to those subjects, I can draw to some extent as another ability that I got from the art department, So I am used to drawing the pictures that come to my mind in my free time and looking at an object and drawing it. Although I have never studied art as a subject, I am doing it as a hobby, inspired by my father. I love this activity with all my heart.

A part from that, if I get free time, writing poetry is another activity that I love to do. I am very fond of creating meaningful verses under new topics by reading Sinhala as well as English literary books. I saw my mother's hobby of composing songs and writing poetry in her free time from a young age. And I think this ability is a gift I got through it. She taught me the message that there is nothing impossible for the person who picks up the pen. She taught us such activities in the Sinhala subject from a young age and it was also a great strength for me to have this ability.

At the same time, one of my favorite things is to spend time with my friends whenever I have free time, to see beautiful places, to have a friend. I have never been angry with any friend or spent time in anger. I like to go on fun trips to eat and drink with friends. Loves to collect memories by photographing every moment spent with them and spend time looking through old memories. I love to travel with all of them from bus to bicycle to train and enjoy life by embracing the moments whole heartedly. In one's free time, it is worth turning to such hobbies to understand the taste of life.

Photography is another hobby. I am a person who prefers to live with the camera whenever I get the freedom. This is a great help for me to understand how fascinating the gifts of nature are and I get used to looking at beautiful objects and seeing things from different angles. These qualities were also closer to me for enjoying Sinhala literature. Touching the attractive external appearance of a person or object, I don't shy to tell it to that person. I was able to improve skills like color matching, lens focusing, and so on because of my interest in painting. Also, by taking photographs, I am able to recall the memories of past events over and over again, so I would like to spend the present time very happily and enjoyably and take pictures of those moments.

I love to try new clothes and new styles. My mother also designs and embroiders the most beautiful clothes for me. I try to wear all types of clothes without sticking to one style of clothing. I like to be beautiful and pleasing to other people every moment. It is adored for everything from frocks , skirts , tops , blouses ,  throusers and sarees. I have a penchant for simple clothing styles. This is another one of my hobbies where I am very deliberate about dressing appropriately. I like to go shopping for new clothes. I also struggle to try more trendy hairstyles and have long hair. The hair is braided in a simple way and is easy to wear for everyday tasks.

I like to spend my free time like this and it heals me both mentally and spiritually.

The space I imagine. Common space for you and me.

Everything fast Forwarding

Hectic speed

Kind of robots called human

Fight for space

From cradle to grave

Even after conquering the space

They complain

For not having space enough

to breath

enough to live

Yet some make

more complains

about the spaces yet to be filled

Second Language Tamil Mediam Speaking Training Course.

During my stay at home after the advanced level examination, I had the opportunity to successfully complete a National Professional English, Information and Communication Technology as well as a Tamil Language Speaking course by managing my time. Through that, I can point out the Tamil language training course as the study course that I participated with the most interest and enthusiasm.

About 50 young people participated in this program which was launched by the Galle, Kuruduwatta Youth Council, and it was a 100-hour continuous program.

Students representing different schools around Galle also participated in this and members came for this without any age limit. Here were also the adults who came here to complete the Tamil academic qualification which was mandatory for government jobs. It is a perfect example to say that this program is so important in our life. The teachers effortlessly taught us how to use the Tamil language correctly in practical life by doing various group activities and individual exercises.

For this, the group of ten Tamil language teachers carried out the teaching activities of this course with the approval of the government and the specialty of this is that beyond the written Tamil we received in school education, the practical speaking method is the foremost teaching here.

At the end of the course, the examinations were not written and after a practical speaking test from student to student, they presented their award in the form of a certificate. They also gave marks to the book that we had to study or prepare which included all the study units.

At the end of the course, a grand Tamil show was held where certificates were given and the ceremony further improved our practical use of Tamil language. Clothes, decorations, food, Everything was shaped according to Tamil style and by organizing that event, the human qualities like unity and support of our team also developed further.

Dance Performance Singing Announcement All festival features were made in Tamil.

I was also lucky enough to participate in a group dance and a group song trio.

My parents who were in the festival audience as well as the elderly parents of other friends were happy that day seeing their children's talents and results with their own eyes.

Let's not waste time even after finishing school, I am very much interested in pursuing this kind of education. Every time I look back at that past, This is one thing that makes me happy.

The experience we all have from birth to death is a lesson for our life. So, I would like to go beyond the concept of no learning after schooling, look at the new world, consider where you are and make your own way to move forward.

School friends get-togethers

I have been educated in two schools for a period of 13 years from primary education to the end of secondary educationThere, President Girls' college , Galle was admitted from childhood to the ordinary level examination and Sanghamiththa Girls' College , Galle was admitted for advanced level examination. I had the opportunity to participate in two friend parties or get-togethers held after the A-level examination because I studied in two schools.

It was a great pleasure for me to have the opportunity to spend time happily with my school friends who have received 11 years of primary and secondary education. It was held in a ceremonial manner at the Savenra Hotel premises in Unawatuna, Galle. That day, I remembered that even though I left the school and went to another school, the love and friendship of my 2017 O/L group friends has not decreased by a tenth.

President Girls' College got an opportunity to showcase our talents on the day of the friends gathering and they asked me to come forward for that. There I performed a solo singing representing the music department.

I felt very happy because the audience responses I received there were from my friends and we had the opportunity to spend the day very successfully and fun.

After that, the second school friend gathering which I attended a few months ago was held in the main hall of the school with the participation of about 400 friends of the 2020 A/L group of Sanghamiththa Girls' High School, Galle.

On that day, all the friends who had studied in science, mathematics, arts and commerce started presenting their talents on the stage. On that day, I also had the opportunity and fortune to represent the school's art section and represent the oriental music section of the beauty unit.

My friends and I were able to receive greetings from all the teachers and I spent that day with indescribable happiness and satisfaction.

I realized that even though the school life has been over for 13 years, any of us can relive memories through such moments.

I will be very happy if such a friendly gathering will be held in the future and I would like to tell you who are reading this not to miss such a valuable opportunity no matter what kind of problems come up. I cherish the opportunity to step away from busy life and spend even a second of free, beautiful time like this.

Maha Katina Cheewara Charity Offering.

Maha Katina Cheewara Charity , which was performed during the year 2022, was performed on November 7 in a grand manner at my aunt's house.

For about a week, they made a place in the house and buried the Katina Cheewara there and performed worship in the morning and evening. The people of the village also came here very willingly and worshiped the kathina cheevara and offered thanks and all our family contributed to this thanksgiving with great faith.

   W
e also worked hard to arrange the Katina Perahera very beautifully and for that we brought elephants from Aluthgama Purana Kandevihara and with the support of 4 art institutions, the perahera was made to move around the village limits in a very grand manner with a large number of dance groups.

The villagers and all of us also performed a night Mahapirith chanting after the arrival of the lay people. Later in the night, after a presentation consisting of Kandian Ves dance elements, Katina Cheewara was dressed as a lucky charm.

At the end of the Katina Perahera, with the participation of all the family members, the monks gave alms to twenty people in the morning, and I also participated in it very willingly. In the sermon, we understood very well what are the results of hard charity. I will be very happy to be able to focus on such merit and to be able to contribute to it with a word or a word.

We hope that this great charitable work that we have done with faith and devotion will lead to future lives as well. πŸ€πŸ™πŸŒΌ

Blood donation campaign.

Having held the position of treasurer of the rural youth club for 3 years now, I qualified to hold the position of Minister of Culture of the Regional youth council in the year 2022 and was granted admission to the Youth Parliament. There, various social and cultural programs proposed from the regional power discussions were implemented and a blood donation program was launched as another program that I worked very diligently with the staff. With the support of the Board of chief officers, they successfully did this on  the 2nd of November in 2022 at a major temple in Galle district.

Poster Campaign

We received the blood donation of about 200 people for this camp which was done with the approval of National Blood Donation Service , Blood Bank , Karapitiya Teaching Hospital. The support of young people was a great help to me to successfully carry out my duties.

We all organized this event very meticulously from about a month ago I was able to meet new friends. This program helped to add many qualities in life like unity , support , leadership , standing up for others patience. I believe this opportunity helped me as well as my other brothers and sisters to study how to handle our behavior patterns appropriately in practical life.

All the officers including myself got the mental satisfaction that come from the success of such a program that was done together. There is no doubt that in the future as well as myself , our team will make efforts to implement such group activities.

The change in my appearance from childhood to now.

Since I could not stand on my two feet, that beautiful past that I was brought up by my mother & father passed by days, weeks and months very quickly and I will describe the change that happened during those 21 years. I also can't imagine how my appearance changed from the first day I went to study until I came to higher education. I used to have short hair as a child and now I have medium hair. I have an evenly developed slim body that doesn't change much. Currently of medium height , I was also tall for my age when I was a child.

Many people say that I look different when I wear a sarry compared to how I look in school uniform. I like to dress in simple styles to show my simplicity others. I have Sri Lankan fair skin since childhood and I am satisfied with my appearance. I also prefer to maintain my appearance as my parents like as I get older. I can be happy with the change in my appearance since birth till now and I also love my appearance.

Two little eyes to look around ,

One little nose to smell what's sweet ,

To little ears to hear each sound ,

And one little mouth that likes to eat ...πŸ™ˆ
